Bangkok Retail MarketView Q4 2009

The total retail supply in Bangkok increased to 5.38 million m2. Consumer confidence improved from the last quarter. The Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) increased from 76.5 in November to 77.7 by the end of the quarter. This is the highest level since September 2008. This key indicator suggests consumers are more confident about the economy.

There are signs of improvement in the retail sector, however continued improvement will depend on the speed of global and local economic recovery coupled with a stabilized political environment.
