Q1 2010:
Although demand remained weak during Q4 2009, there was a 14,927 sqm growth in the total amount of occupied office space. Net take-up for the whole year (2009) was 46,311 sqm.
Overall take-up in the Bangkok office market was 6,787,992 sqm, up 0.2% Q-o-Q and 0.7% Y-o-Y.
The vacancy rate was 14.9%, up from 13.9% at the end of the 3rd quarter of 2009 and 13.5% at the end of 2008.
Bangkok office market rents have moved downwards. As of Q4 2009, overall rents dropped for the fourth consecutive quarter since the beginning of the year. Grade A offices in the CBD faced a drop in rent of 1.3% Q-o-Q and 7.8% Y-o-Y, down to THB 685/sqm in this quarter. Read more
