The west coast was the first location to be developed in Phuket with a range of resorts, condominiums and hotels. With the scarcity of prime beachfront locations in this area, the south and east coast have become increasingly popular among homebuyers. Inland sites and golf courses are also being developed.

Phuket property buyers continue to focus on the west coast where it is still possible to acquire quality properties with outstanding views, However a wide range of developments are now available on the east and south coasts and neighbouring islands and provinces.
PHUKET VILLAS, CONDOMINIUMS AND APARTMENTS
Phuket’s real estate market has attracted people buying homes for both investment and to use as a holiday property. Phuket’s wide range of real estate suits all types of buyers; the following property types and options are available:

1. Phuket Villas
A villa is the name most commonly used for a house or home in Phuket. They are normally part of a resort and usually bought as a holiday home, often with a rental or property management service. (Phuket Villa Research)

2. Phuket Condominiums and Apartments
Condominiums offer freehold title. There are numerous condo projects in Phuket, principally located on the west coast and adjacent to beaches. Typical condos have 2-3 bedrooms, generous balconies and range from THB 5 million. (Phuket Apartment Research)

3. Semi-detached Houses and Townhouses in Phuket
Subject to price, the market is primarily interested in villas. However, in a number of developments, notably around Laguna, Phuket offers semi-detached and terrace houses, which are significantly cheaper than villas in comparable areas.

4. Phuket Resort Properties
Resort villas sell on their appeal as a holiday home and for rental income. Both the levels of management and the types of property vary.

5. Branded Property
These comprise reports operated by established hospitality groups. The most famous resort is probably Amanpuri villas at Surin. There are a number of branded resorts currently being developed, including Jumeirah, Trisara, The Yamu.
