If you already know Phuket well you probably have a favourite spot that you return to regularly. For those who are less familiar with the island, the guide below should give you a better idea of your preferred location:

The West Coast:
Despite what you may have heard, there is a beach for everyone on Phuket; from noisy, hedonistic Patong to the easier going pace of Kata Noi and Surin beaches, south and north respectively.
Karon beach, just south of Patong, is slightly more laid-back than its bustling neighbour while Kata (heading south again) has a gorgeous beach, bags of charm and just the right amount of entertainment. All the beaches south of Kata are nice and quiet, while north of Patong and Kamala are exclusive Surin, sweeping lagoon-backed Bang Tao, and sleepy Nai Yang.
The best beaches in Phuket are located on the West coast, where the majority of hotels and residential developments are located. In addition you will find most restaurants and bars located on this side of the island giving you a wide variety of eating and drinking locations. The Bangtao, Surin and Layan areas are the centre for luxury villa developments and also where Amanpuri, Phuket’s top-end hotel is located. Laguna Phuket, Asia’s largest integrated resort development is also located in Bangtao. The Kamala area and Millionaire’s Mile also offer a range of villas and apartment developments for rent. Those who enjoy Phuket’s nightlife may prefer to stay near Patong, the heart of Phuket’s tourism activity. All areas on the West Coast generally offer easy access to Phuket’s six golf courses.
The East Coast:
The East Coast has seen an increase in the number of luxury developments in recent years as prime West coast sites have already been developed. The East Coast areas of Ao Po and Cape Yamu offer stunning views across the Phang Nga Bay. Boating enthusiasts and those wanting to cruise around the Andaman Sea may find the East coast to be their ideal holiday location as all of Phuket’s marinas are located here because of the deep sea water access allowing for marina developments. Phuket has four existing marinas, including Royal Phuket Marina, Yacht Haven, Ao Po and Boat Lagoon. Please see more information below regarding boating in Phuket.
The North Coast:
The North Coast is a less extensively developed area compared to the West coast beaches. It offers a serene coastline along the Mai Khao and Nai Yang beaches, ideal for those wanting more privacy for their holiday. The Phuket International Airport is also located in very close proximity. However, due to a lack of facilities such as restaurants, bars and shops in this area, rental properties tend to be few and far between.
The South Coast:
The beach quality on the South coast is not as good as the West coast; hence, the extent of development is less. There are several high-end developments in this area including Sri Panwa and Evason Phuket. The South of Phuket offers easy access to Phuket Town. Located towards the south of the island, directly east of Patong, Phuket Town is one of bustling markets and a genuine old Thai character with its Sino-Portuguese architecture and Chinese herbal clinics.
CBRE Thailand has rental properties in all of the island's top locations in varying price ranges. Whether you would like to stay at the Royal Phuket Marina, or prefer the white sandy beaches on the West Coast, or perhaps would like to spend your days golfing at the Banyan Tree, we have a range of properties available to suit individual needs.
