A major international consumer electronics company appointed CBRE to negotiate the renewal of its office lease.

Challenge

The client was based in a prime office in the CBD which was known to have a tough landlord. However, the company still wanted to renew the lease at the existing premises due to the benefits of the building which included advanced IT facilities for the company’s service centre, good accessibility and also flexibility for expansion.

Strategy

After initiating the full transaction process, the office leasing team conducted a comprehensive review of all the options available to the client. A matrix analysis and cost analysis were both carried out, as well as a detailed assessment of the best negotiation tactics to employ with the client’s landlord.

Result

After lengthy negotiations, the client finally renewed the lease for 7,000 sq.m. at its existing office premises.
