QUARTERLY HIGHLIGHTS
- Bangkok's retail market experienced another positive quarter in Q4 2023 compared to the same period last year, driven by festive season spending and the revival of Thailand's tourism industry.
- Thailand's consumer confidence index (CCI) increased for a fifth consecutive month, reaching 62.0 in December 2023, its highest level since February 2020. The government continued to introduce measures to try to facilitate spending by lowering energy prices and relaxing visa rules, with the aim of boosting the tourism sector. The CCI increased by 12.3 points, a 24.7% Y-o-Y increase.
- Total retail supply in Bangkok increased from 8.0 million square meters in Q4 2022 to 8.3 square meters in Q4 2023, an increase of 2.9% Y-o-Y.
- There is more than 1.3 million square meters of retail space either planned or under construction.
