Air Asia launches Phuket-Ho Chi Minh City Route

By on Dec 23, 2009 in Hotel-Tourism

Phuket AirportAir Asia has recently announced the launch of its’ new route between Phuket and Ho Chi Minh City. The airline has been operating daily direct flights between Thailand’s leading resort island and HCMC since 4th November 2009, in addition to its established routes from HCMC to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta.

The airline believes there is demand from both leisure and business travelers for this new route. The route expansion is also part of Air Asia’s plan to stimulate tourism between the ASEAN countries.

The route expansion is most likely to increase Vietnamese tourists in Phuket and may also stimulate the island’s property market in the medium to long term. There are currently direct flights operating from Phuket’s main buyers’ markets such as Hong Kong and Singapore. Accessibility is a key factor to consider for a second home or a holiday home destination.

Will the recently launched direct flights from HCMC open up a new market for Phuket Villa and Condo properties?
