Bangkok Condo Market – Market View Q2 2015

Despite the sluggishness of the overall economy, there was a continued increase of 96% Y-o-Y in downtown Bangkok condominium launches. Meanwhile, after launching very few midtown and suburban projects in Q1, developers returned to the market in the second quarter launching more than 16,800 new condominium units, an increase of 116% Q-o-Q.

There have been mixed results from the newly launched condominium projects. High sales rates have only been achieved in the projects that have the location, quality, design and specifications to justify the price . We believe buyers have been a mix of end-users, speculators and buy to rent investors.
