Bangkok Condominiums – 7% Increasing of New Home Registrations in Metro

Registration of new homes in Greater Bangkok recorded 57,300 units in the first half of the year, up 7 per cent from 53,800 units in the same period of 2012, according to a survey by the Real Estate Information Centre (REIC) of Government Housing Bank.  Of the total, 33,200 units are in Bangkok proper, and the remaining 24,100 in the provinces Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon and Nakhon Pathom.

Bangkok Condominiums continued to be popular, with 31,500 units or 55 per cent of total newly registered resDetached houses accounted for 13,500 units or about 23 per cent, townhouses for 6,600 units or 12 per cent, while 9 per cent were shophouses and less than 1 per cent duplexes.  The REIC estimates that 2013 will see 125,000 new registrations.
