Bangkok Hotel Chain Centara Eyes New Markets

Bangkok Hotel DeveloperThe Bangkok Hotel developer Centara Hotels and Resorts aims to become an international hotel chain by making its presence felt in major cities and emerging markets.  The plan is to buy properties in selective locations.

Centara is claiming conservative growth and is looking to generate a good yield. Centara currently has developed 6 brands:  Centara Grand Hotels & Resorts, Centara Hotels & Resorts, Centara Boutique Collection, Centara Residence & Suites, Centra Hotels & Resorts, and Cosi Hotels. Centara is planning to develop several new hotel brands in 2016. As of today Centara owns 15 hotels and resorts. 13 of these hotels are in Thailand and the other 2 are in the Maldives. Centara also manages 60 other hotels across Thailand, China, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Mauritius, Ethiopia, Qatar and Oman.

One of the new brands is Cosi. The new brand targets the affordable lifestyle hotel segment for savvy travellers and youths. Centara are planning to differentiate Cosi from other budget hotels by providing mini gyms, swimming pools and restaurants.
