Bangkok Property Record-Breaking Downtown Prices in 2015

By on Mar 17, 2015 in Property News, Residential

Bangkok property has had record-breaking prices of over THB 300,000 per square metre. This has been achieved in five downtown condominium projects in 2014. This reinforced our belief of downtown condominium market as being a low-volume high-value market with limited new supply.

The rush to launch new condominium projects continued in Q4 2014. The number of condominium units launched increased by 281% Q-o-Q in the downtown area and 13% Q-o-Q in the midtown/suburban area. Due to political turmoil in the first half of the year, the total number of condominiums launched throughout 2014 decreased by 37% in the downtown market and 29% in the midtown/suburban market, compared to 2013.

Overall, the downtown market is in a relatively healthy condition. We believe that prices for both newly launched downtown condominiums and the best existing condominium projects located in the best downtown locations will continue to rise.
