Bangkok Property – St. John’s eyes Lat Phrao Property Boom

Salan Development Company in Bangkok, the property arm of the St. John’s group of schools, is planning a mixed-use development on 50 rai near the Lat Phrao-Vibhavadi Rangsit intersection. Chainarong Monthienvichienchai, chairman of the board, said the group plans to relocate the schools to the outskirts of Bangkok on a plot of at least 100 rai on a main road, as the current location is too small to expand. On Vibhavadi Rangsit road near the Lat Phrao intersection, it has plots of 50 rai where St. John’s university is situated. The company is looking to develop hotels, retail spaces and offices through either a joint venture or renting out the plot.

One of the major planned developments is the Bang Sue Complex. In late 2014 Salan Development launched The Saint Residences condo project, comprising three 41 storey buildings and 1500 units worth 10 billion THB. Recently, phase 2 for building number 2 with 400 units.

The school group also developed the housing project Chulakasem in the Ngam Wong Wan area 40 years ago.
