  • In Q3 2013, three new shopping centers  opened  in Bangkok;  B-Gallery,  wholesale and  retail  on  Prathunam, Omni Community Mall  on  Lad  Prao 116 and Kurve 7 on Krung Thep Kreetha Soi 7.
  • International  brands  expanded their  business  lines  in  the  Thai market  in  Q3  2013.  The  latest (4th) Christian Dior store opened at  Siam  Paragon;  Tory  Burch opened the second store at The Emporium and Miu Miu opened their first Store at Paragon. H&M and  Pepe  Jeans  London,  a denim  and  casual  wear  jeans brand from London opened their flagship stores at Central  World Plaza in Q3 2013.
  • The  overall  occupancy  rate stayed at 95.4%. The volume of occupied retail space decreased to    six    million  sq.m.,  down  by 0.2%  Q-o-Q  (and    increased 2.7%  Y-o-Y.  Rental  rates increased  in  the  best  shopping malls,  especially  in  the downtown  area.  Community mall’s  rental  rates  were  still  flat where  the  success  rate  was mixed.
  • In  September  2013,  Thailand’s Consumer  Confidence  Index (CCI)  declined  to  77.9, compared  to  the  average  of 82.6  in  Q2  2013.  The  Retail Sales Index slightly decreased to 218.28  as  of  August  2013, decreasing by 2.87% Y-o-Y.
