Bangkok townhouses preferred to condos?

By on Mar 02, 2016 in Property News, Residential

Property developers AP Thailand Plc and Sammakorn Plc will launch more low-rise (single house & town house) residential projects this year showing confidence in the property market. AP will launch 20 residential projects. There will be 15 single-house and townhouse projects and 5 condominium projects. At the end of 2015 AP had a sales backlog of 11.58 billion THB.

Sammakorn’s managing director, Kittipol Pramoj Na Ayudhya said it would launch 3 projects worth 4.4 billion THB which would be single houses or townhouses. “We will have no new condos this year as the condo market is not as good as expected amid the economic slowdown” he said. “Consumers and investors have a wait-and-see attitude on the economic situation”.

Sammakorn is targeting to have 2.1 billion THB in both presales and revenue this year. Revenue last year was below target of 1.8 billion THB. This was mainly due to low numbers of condo transfers.
