London’s Centre Point ‘in demand’ with Thais

Centre Point, an exclusive residential and retail development in the heart of London, has grown in popularity with buyers from Thailand. The number of apartments sold to Thai nationals has doubled since the June “Brexit” vote to leave the European Union.

Originally built in 1966, the 34-storey landmark building is protected by the government service Historic England because of the exceptional and pioneering design of the building. Centre Point is one of London’s most famous skyscrapers and is being extensively refurbished by the owners and developers of the building, Almacantar.

Tracy Hughes, residential sales director, said the lifestyle, language, healthcare services and educational opportunities in London continued to make it a world-class city. Since the appointment of a new prime minister, London has stabilised politically and financially, she claimed.

Renovation

In the past two months, the Centre Point apartments have become even more popular with Thai citizens because of their design, the unique features of the building, its prime location and the favourable exchange rate, she said. Centre Point’s renovation is due for completion next year, in time for the arrival of Crossrail, a new high-speed railway that will start running in London in 2018.

Centre Point’s appeal to Thai nationals has been the service that will be available to residents, its desirable location and the spectacular views across London.

Centre Point is located in the heart of London, so the city’s top universities, theatres including the Royal Opera House, leading restaurants and luxury fashion outlets are all a short walking distance away. A new square is also being built at the base of the skyscraper, which will include modern cafes, shops and restaurants.
