Yesterday MBK announced an investment budget of between THB 5 and 6 billion for the next 3 years. The focus will be on their core property businesses of shopping centres and housing in Bangkok.

Chief Executive Officer, Suvait Theeravachirakul said MBK had THB 3.8 billion cash in hand for future expansions.

Approximately THB 2 billion will be invested this year.  The money will be used for construction of a new facade and skywalk at the MBK complex on Rama I road in Bangkok and some new housing projects in Bang Kadi and Pathum Thani (Park Riverdale and Riverdale Residence).

The Park Riverdale is planned to have about 70 housing units. These will sell at between 5 and 10 THB million. The Riverdale Residence project will consist of 50 housing units between 30 and 50 THB million.

Suvait said the group by the end of this year was also planning to develop a new low-rise condominium project close to its The Nine shopping mall on Rama IX Road. There will be 420 units selling at  less than 3 million THB per unit.
