Phuket Villa Condo – Asians Pick Up the Slack in Phuket

By on Oct 29, 2013 in Property News

Residential units with affordable prices remain most active in the Phuket property market as big players targeted domestic demand and foreign buyers shifted to emerging middle-class Asians.

Property consultant CBRE Thailand said the entry-level segment in the villa market again demonstrated the strongest performance in the second quarter this year, with about 60% of the total sales value.

On the other hand, there were no Phuket luxury villa sales in the quarter. The total value of sales decreased by 5%year-on-year and 20% quarter-on-quarter.

Nationalities of villa buyers in the quarter included Chinese, Singaporean, British, Italian, German and Russian, mainly focusing on affordable villas.

For condominiums, the mass market continued its strong sales performance, targeting Thai investors

The west coast continued to be the most popular location, particularly the northwest coast including Patong. Properties that offer sea views, easy access to the beach and a variety of entertainment options nearby are the most popular among buyers.
