QUARTERLY HIGHLIGHTS
- Bangkok’s retail market experienced growth from Q1 to Q2 2023, driven by a number of factors including strong consumer confidence and the opening of new retail projects when compared to the same period last year.
- Thailand’s consumer confidence index (CCI) increased to 56.7 in June 2023, reaching the highest level in three years since Thailand began to face the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020 (The CCI increased 15.1 points or a 36.3% Y-o-Y increase).
- The total retail supply in Bangkok increased from 7.9 million square meters in Q2 2022 to 8.2 million square meters in Q2 2023, an increase of 3.3% Y-o-Y.
- By Q2 2023, there was over 1.54 million sq. m. of retail space either being planned or under construction based on what has been publicly announced.
